Natalie Goes Disneyland

I went to disneyland to celebrate my buddy Sook Voon's birthday :)

I had fun it brought out the kid inside of me again :) haha... esspecially since my hair has been in a tight bun for the past few days...

the fireworks we're magical and the parade was cool... It made me emotional... the fireworks, background and music was well the reason why...
only problem it was in canto not the song for the fireworks but for the glow in the dark halloween parade.. haha
regardless i still had fun :)

We went during the Halloween Festivities... so they transformed sleeping beauties castle into a haunted castle....

Merry -go-rounds are so nostalgic...
part of the group . (Clockwise : Debra, Nigel , Li Ling and I)
Li Ling and I with our mickey and minnie ears :) i couldn't resist it was so tempting to get one...

Romance At Shek O Beach...

Hello...

I went to the beach yesterday as part of the activities held by the university of Hong Kong for international students... it was an hours journey from the university but worth the bumpy and long ride... I had a lot of fun riding the waves ..

and I have now gained a sudden fetish to learn surfing :) haha i know... so weird right.. natalie surfing? but we'll see... hehe.. we had a bbq buffet on the beach before heading towards the ocean... its a really pretty and romantic beach.. i really enjoyed riding the waves and soaking up the sun... but i may have soaked up too much... i'm now a red cherry tomato...

yes i know i should have put on sun block but you see i woke up late and hence i forgot... silly me... anyway here are some shots... there are more on facebook.. so go and check them out...

Jess, Geneva and I

Sook voon and I
The rest of the International Students...
Do you remember,
Or should I rewind,
To that summer when you caught my eye,
I played it cool, The weather was hot,
You had the beauty and the beach on lock.
With your flip flops, half shirt, short shorts, mini skirt,
Walkin' on the beach, so pretty,
You wasn't lookin' for a man,
When you saw me in the sand,
But you fell for the boy from the city

First Day

hello

I had my first official university class today... I was damn excited until class started... I had Introduction to Economics 1... it was so boring and philsophical.. i was like.... when the lecturer started quoting various economic figures... like adam smith. and marshall something... My lecturer stuttered a little bit here and there but i think he was nervous ... i could see it in his face... haha oh well..

i don't think i'll like economics but maybe it'll grow on me... thank goodness i'm doing accounting anf finance and not econ and finance..

oh btw autumn is coming... haha so its windy here now... i love it man... awesome wind especially when u go to the ferry pier... sea breeze :)...

You Should Have Given It A Chance...

Hello

I attended my hku reception/gathering on the 12th of July :)... hehe it was awesome... In a sense that i finally knew other people who were going to the same university as me and also because i met some other people there who are just as enthusiastic as me ... and also cause it gave me a chance to meet other people who share the same dreams and hopes of going there...

i'm so happy that i bumped into nigel who like me saw the ad in the newspaper and immediately took it as a chance to get out of here and to move on with our lives... the best part was that we both got into the same course :) so i found a course mate .. :) hehe... I met other people there too who were really friendly... we all plan to go there together on the same flight and such cause some of us can't speak cantonese well...

I've even met li ling whom knows jc ... and we plan to go on a shopping trip once we hit hk ... and we plan to do all sorts of stuff like hiking and makan makan... ;)...my appetite's back btw cause the doc gave me the green light YAY !!!!! s

despite all that the one thing i really really want to do is to get involved in the community projects done by the university students :) its so cool... i haven't decided but its between going to africa to help build school's or go to india and teach english ... My parents have given me the green light to participate so i just have to figure out which one i want... haha... if i go ghana then i can gazelle's and elephants :) *squels with excitement... if i go india i get to buy an authentic saree ... ok that sounds stupid... but then again i might get my kidney stolen in india... and i love my kidneys x)...

to be honest i'm really excited although the language barrier is going to be a really huge challenge... but i doubt its something that i can't handle... but then again the fact that i can't speak the language is going to make it really exciting in a weird way :).... Nevermind if i'm going down their be others coming with me *Smirks...

ps: i met my buddy she seems really really nice .... and friendly too... and she's going to get me from the airport :)...

A New Buddy

The University of Hong Kong practices the Buddy System ... which is a system where the first year international student undergraduates are paired up with one of their senior students in the same programme... and that buddy will fetch you from the airport personally and be your friend/ translator throughout your entire first year...

So today i checked my email and my buddy emailed me :P hehe... she lives here in Malaysia too the only difference is that she is doing BBA ... oh well... hehe she sounds nice... i don't know what to reply in that email... haha sorry but this email really excites me cause it just amplifies the fact that this is becoming so real... other than the fact that my mum cries over ice cubes... yes she's emo... now you know why i'm emo too :)...

but either way i have a feeling i'm going to meet her this sunday at the HKU students meeting... where i'll meet all the other HKU students, their alumni and my professors... i'm nervous .. what should i wear ... maybe i'll where a dress... or should i go with my usual slacks... need advice people... lol...

oh i went to sy's farewell at mcd yesterday ... it was fun but sad at the same time... i realised that sy is older than paul not in terms of age but in the sense that i know her longer than paul...

we met in mandarin class when we were like 4 or 5 ... we went to the same tadika which was tadika diana, we went to the same primary school which was SK TTDI (1) and then we went to the same high school SMKBUD(4) and then we went to the same college which was Taylor's college and now we're both going to different uni's on different continents... its just sad... but thank goodness for the inventions of modern tech...

love you girl ..

Transformers, Chicken Kamemashi, House Sushi & A Friend...

I finally found someone to watch Transformers with me ... finally after scrolling my entire contact list in my hp... someone came around and he was like have u watched transformers then i was noooo...
anyway transformers is so cool :) i cannot stop having that smile after watching that movie.. i'm just glad that i finally got a chance to satisfy my cravings for transformers and chicken kamemashi ... hehe...
transformers was so cool.. except for the part where they killed the tiger look a like decepticon... it was like nooooo ~~~ the kitty dieded... but oh well... from a geeks point of view the part where shia went to heaven and saw the ancient primes .. was so cool but from a normal persons point of view it'll be like so lame... autobots have a heaven too... xP but my geekness got the best of me and i was like thats so cool... but for some reason the fallen prime looked like an alien... well until optimus prime went and ripped his entire face off... either way the movie rocks... i feel like watching it again lol...
chicken kamemashi... haha its from sakae sushi...
it looks like a house so cute.... xP
oh something funny happened... i was showing ben the picture look it looks like a house then he looked at my phone when the sushi was just directly in front of him... then he realised eh the sushi is here... then he looked at the real sushi... lol...

3,4,5

i had a very fun filled weekend as usual :)...

3rd July - i went shopping with paul and met with my schoolmates to celebrate jen ai's birthday... to be honest the day started like a disaster. I was in bud (4) video taping my sisters dance for her to see then i suddenly get this sms from paul telling me that his car dissappeared so we'll have to walk to 1u but he'll have the car for jen ai's bithday celebration... then i was ok with it i needed the exercise anyway.. but hehe my mum came to the rescue and dropped us off yay! i got some of my hk stuff while shopping with paul. its nice to shop with paul cause he makes me think 3 times before buying something...its like ...

nat : i need a scarf to protect myself from the hk winds...
paul : nat... there's a difference between need and want... so which one is it?
nat : *smiles... but its cold....
paul : your not going to the uk you know...
nat : but i'm skinny and tiny... i don't have much fats to help me fight off the cold...
paul : do you want it or need it...
nat : *evil glares....

well its good in a way ... it helps save money.... hehe and besides i like shopping with paul when his being gay ... he gives good opinions :)... i'm going to miss shopping with paul when i go to hong kong...

after shopping we went home and then refreshed and then disaster struck again... paul sms and called me to tell me that his car disaspeared again... this time his dad took it .. and the best part was that he left his wallet and ic in that car... so he can't possibly leave the hse anyway....so me and my white flowy skirt went by ourselves... i arrived late... sorry jen ai ... i had a fun time seeing all of them again :) it was nice catching up we should do it more often...

i don't have pics from that night... will get it from hr soon i guess...

4th July - hehe i woke up early and went to petaling street :)... one of my fav places to just walk around and look at stuff... i don't know why maybe cause its like one of the closest things to cha chu chat in bangkok ... anyway i was there shopping for my sisters dance costume for talent night... which i'm actually rather looking forward to cause this will be the first time i'm actually sitting down and watching the show... finally right? the only thing i couldn't stand was the sun... haha.... and i couldn't stand checking whether her costumes were in proper condition or not cause after a while i started feeling dizzy.. it was so shinny x)...

after that we went to brickfields to get more stuff for the costumes ... it was so cool... i like the indian/hippie vibe that i was getting from the street and its people... maybe ben's right.. i have a little tree hugger manifesting inside of me or something... i felt so indian in that street especially when we reached bombay point... i wanted to buy the indian earrings cause they looked so classy ... but then i was like i'm going to spend money soon at night ... nvm bombay point will always be there... maybe i'll go there before i go hong kong...

in the evening i invited some human's over for swimming and dinner... but there were many humans who couldn't make it... but either way i was nice to just relax in the water and let everything sink to the bottom... while your eyes are looking at the sky while imagining the possibilities of the future... dinner was fun we went to ming tien ...

haha i went all the way to tj's house which was in klang to play jim rummy :)... lyn was right it is addictive ... and klang air is so hazy... its like smoking without the cigratte... haha i'm not good at jim rummy cause my tiles were sucky but i had fun... haha.. :)... i came home later than usual but it didn't bother me or anyone else.. yes there were calls from parents but thats normal.. i'm a girl ... :) and i love being a girl... i can get away with almost anything well more than the amount of things boys can get away with...

5th July - CHEER 2009... lol BLITZERZ won champion ... they totally kicked ass ... the difference between first place and first runner up was 39 points... way kicking cheerleading ass if you asked me... hehe... it was fun i went with yl, max, lw, sy and brandon... and my sister... it was a really tight competition this year... you could feel the tension in the air... but sad to say there wasn't much hype about it for some reason.. the energy levels were down... but the usual senior teams such as dynamites, shirtliff , xavier and etc... put up a really good show to watch... i'm addicted to basky's now... i feel like youtubing to help my addiction... but i can seriously say that BLITZERZ did a really good job :) i liked the routine.. the music and choreography complimented each other very well...

in between i saw some familiar faces like jasmine, ben, justin, philip , arnold, mei li and jen ai... it was nice to see jasmine whose yl's cousin... she looks very fair and white now... i don't know why but for some reason everyone who came back from australia looks whiter... must be the air there or something... right now i need australian air and brazillian food or water or something... brazillian bods are HOT ... look at gisele...

after the whole cheer thing was over we decided to have dinner as yl wanted to eat dinner with jasmine.. so we went to ikea and had meat balls :)... the conversation we had was so nostalgic... we talked about all the stuff we did when we were in high school... it was so fun .. and then for some reason we talked about yl's wedding plans and her 'J' crushes... haha max had a glimpse of it...

speaking of max... max sorry for mixing your name up with marcus.. it was an accident... :D... hehe ...

it was a nice weekend overall... eventhough there were many days where i had to wake up early and such...

Just Three Girls And A Mall

:) i went out with yl and lw today ... too bad su yee couldn't make it (miss u girl) we were suppose to watch 17 again... *17forever by metrostation plays in my head * .... but then the only tickets left were for front row seats... so yl decided not to risk it... for future references i don't mind sitting in the first row unless its at tgv ... gsc i don't mind... anyway we went shopping or rather yl went shopping for an outfit deemed suitable for her astro scholarship interview :)

CONGRATULATIONS DEAR !

YOU CAN DO IT

HAVE FAITH IN YOURSELF

Well in the end she bought the dress and decided to spend money on just a blazer instead of a shirt and skirt ... hehe but yl the dress is seriously worth it... I'm so tempted to buy the ballet flats in vincci because i found a matching scarf in forever 21... but me being frugal with my money due to the fact that i already spent money at the nine west and bodyshop sale.... which was a calling by the way ... decided to bring mummy and daddy instead... i will try my best to convince them that the shoe and the scarf is essential for my survival in hk... which is true... i need the flats so that my feet won't hurt when i walk around my huge campus and i need the scarf to keep my neck warm so that i won't get a sore throat which could lead to a cough or a fever later on .... see i need those items... :) ...

oh something funny happen... when lw saw my new hp for the first time ( this tells you how long she hasn't seen me ) she said excitedly ' your phone so MAJU ! ' lol she's so cute... *hugs girl...

anyway i will upload photo's from the outing another time... oh lw tell me when you've upload your share of the photo's... please and thank you...

To Yee Lian and Lai Wah

Thanks for taking me out :) i needed one ...

David Archuleta Live In Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Hello

Last saturday at 3.45pm like that my sister and i was busy enjoying a David Archuleta Concert in Sunway Amphitheatre... It was a hot day and the venue was outdoor too :) oh joy the heat of the malaysian sun .. but it was all worth it.. I met lyndy and karyan in the concert :) hehe The moment he came out i can feel my eardrums breaking as the decibels in the theatre was so freaking high... i can still remember shaun's expression whenever it got too loud...Eventhough he was out for a while and only performed 6 songs it was still worth it to catch him live for once :) btw he looks much taller and much much better looking in person ...

Oh yeah SPECIAL THANKS TO SHAUN FOR GETTING US VIP SEAT TICKETS... When the concert ended it started to rain again :) it was raining during the concert... See david archuleta can make our hot malaysian weather much cooler so that all his loyals fans who were waiting for him will stop sweating buckets...ok i'm just being lame ignore me... anyway i'll upload the shots and video from the concert another time... btw i'm still waiting for some photos from lyndy, kar yan, melly and shaun :) pls send to my email ok? thanks ya :)

Wishing You Were Here Sweetheart...

hello

As said in my earlier post i shall blog about my lunar new year :)... its nothing much really...

First Day
For the first day... i woke up late and i had to rush to get dressed and had the tea ceromony with my parents, grandma and my uncle. I have a very small family my dad is the eldest of the family and only has one younger brother who only has one son... so the ang's third generation in Malaysia only consists of Sherman, Natalie and Nicole. We don't really get visitors on the first day so normally, i would take my singaporean cousin to the cinema to catch a movie cause he'll be leaving the next day anyway... so this year we watched Underworld 3: Rise of the Lycans. Being a fan of the underworld saga i was excited... will write a review about it later on when i feel like writting...

So while waiting for my mum to fetch us from the mall we took some shots... hehe.. x) enjoy...

L-R: Sherman, Nicole and Natalie

Didn't you Know that we are very very serious people?

Doing something random

Second Day

For the second day, we had my mum's third sister's family come over for a visit but my cute little nieces and nephew didn't come :(... but its ok i then went to my mum's second brother's house to visit and i met them there... their so cute now... just look at them :)

6 month old Ariel giggling as we tickle her belly

Well thats all for now :) hope your having an awesome day ...

The Screen Actors Guild Awards

hello everyone

Last monday other than the fact that it was the lunar new year and australia's national day, it was also the day where all the hollywood stars came out all dressed up to attend the 15th annual Screen Actor Guild(SAG) awards. As usual I was watching to see what people wore and whether my fav fashionistas hit it out of the ball park or they needed to divorce their stylist x) so here's my pick on the top 7 best dressed for the SAG awards.

Anne Hathaway

The star of Bride Wars of wars did it once again. First at the Golden Globes and now again at the SAG Awards . Doesn't she look stunning? Wouldn't you agree with me that this Azzaro creation makes her look like a Grecian Goddess. Anne’s simple, stylish gown, drapes beautifully and the gold detailing adds to the luxury and glamour. White can be hard to pull off, especially on pale skins, but somehow Anne manages it perfectly. Furthermore, it looks effortless and natural.

Amy Adams

Is nominated for her role in the movie Doubt this year. However for me whenever i hesar her name or see her the movie Enchanted with the scene where she's dancing with Patrick Dempsey plays in my head and then i go why can't i be dancing with him... lol jk.. ok back to business... this eggplant colour dress goes well with her very pale skin and red locks. In case your wondering whats that thing on her waist well its a big bow i think. If it is well to be completely honest it goes very well with the dress its not too big or small that makes it look like the dress is wearing her and not she wearing the dress. Besides, bows are all the range now in the fashion world. In short i love the dress and her...

Claire Danes

This year the host of the SAG awards wore a nice sultry red dress. With the back sleeves of the dress slighty more on one side of the shoulder than the other. That sleeve alone was a breathe of fresh air from the usual one shoulder desgins that have been dominating red carpets on all the award shows. This red Nina Ricci silk number gives Claire’s tiny frame curves and the neckline is sublime.

Evan Rachel Woods

The star of the movie the Wrestler's gown was designed by Monique Lhuilier. This glamouress teal number reminds me of old hollywood timeless classics. It also continues the one shoulder trend and invokes the spirit of the Hollywood age. It shows that simple can be show stopping.

January Jones

Yet another Grecian Goddess look which is one of the looks that i love so much. why? Cause it looks elegant, timeless and feminine. This beautiful creation by Andrew Gn shows that with a little bit details at the right places and amount a black dress doesn't have to be boring. Mind you her hair looks perfect with the dress not too overdone and it looks fresh.

Kate Winslet

A beautiful blue cobalt number. This dress is assymetrical and it has that off shoulder but also on shoulder going on. Its a very bold colour for Kate as she normally wears paler tone sort of colours. But this bold colour really makes her pale skin and beautiful blonde hair stand out. Plus her fishtail Narciso Rodriguez gown compliments Kate’s curves whilst the royal blue is a fabulous and show stopping colour. On another note i'm so glad that Kate does not want to do Botox. :) She says that she won't do it cause it would take away her ability to act convincely.

Penelope Cruz

Azzedine Alaia always creates a great line, and this dress is beautifully cut. Love the new and different neckline. I think its metal. The train is gorgeous it suits her body too.

So thats my picks for my top 7 best dressed for the SAG Awards... so lets take a look at the misses shall we?

Laura Linney
Normally wearing something from Micheal Kors would be amazing cause he knows how to make stunning dresses but i don't know. there's just something weird about this dress that i can't put my finger on. tere's just something so wrong and weird about it. any ideas?

Eva Longaria
To be completely honest, i'm so dissapointed with what Eva wore. I thought she would have put together something as glamourous as she did like in the Golden Globes 2009 but oh well we're all humans and we all make mistakes i guess. A little bit too much ruffles here and there...

Nicolette Sheriden
I don't like the one sided sleeve thing... sorry...
America Ferrera
I'm sorry but i don't like the Vera Wang gown... i don't like the black things... and i wished she pulled her hair back. i think it would have looked nicer....

So those are my picks for those who dressed lovely and those who didn't. Remember this is only my opinion. I'm not saying that i can dress well or anything. Just doing this for fun. Feel free to say what you want to say in my cbox... The next event will be the Grammy's and the Orange British Academy Awards.
will be blogging about my Chinese New Year in the next post when i feel like writting it... Maybe tomorrow... Until then au revoir
