2009 Academy Awards Best Dressed

Hello

The 2009 Academy Awards red carpet is a runway showcasing the latest in fashion trends. As of now the trend if I'm not mistaken origami kind of like designs. Which in my opinion is very very glamorous because it shows the craftsmanship of the dress. Anyway here are my picks for Best Dressed... Enjoy...

Angelina Jolie

She's back. After wearing two tents to the last two award shows , she's back in a very very good way. She looks so elegant in this Elie Saab gown with the nice emerald jewels on her ear and hand. She looks like a Goddess . Its like she's standing telling us that her majesty has arrived. I like the corset of the dress . It fits perfectly. Nice pick on accessories. Might I say Brad Pitt looks good too xP

Penelope Cruz

Always a pleasure to watch on the red carpet. For this award she wore a vintage one of a kind dress. She looks like a princess. I like the lacey stuff on the gown. I like the hair and make up. What can i say about this fashionista and her latina bod.

Evan Rachel Wood
Another stunningly gorgeous Elie Saab creation. What I like about her look is that it gives me a very classic old timeless Hollywood kind of feel :) and I love that. This time the dress is definitely not wearing her and she is wearing the dress . She didn't over accessorize and that's a plus cause if she did it would have been a total failure instead of a total success . I love the colour on her skin it looks fresh and new and edgy for some reason . This was definitely one of my most favourite dresses of the evening. Can't you tell?

Tara P. Henson

This dress looks so nice but at the same time it looks like a scary mummy x) i think its because of the layers . But its still amazing. The tier after tier of organza and chiffon is genius. Thumbs up to Roberto Cavali who did an amazing job on this dress. However, I wish she used a different colour of a clutch.

Kate Winslet
In a stunning very modern, edgy and fashion forward gown. I love this girl she always plays with symmetry on the red carpet. Which is something by the way kind of bold in a fashion way cause most celebs would probably stick to those safe classic kind of silhouette's and all. However I would have prefered for her to wear something else because i have always pictured her as classic old hollywood. But none the less she looks beautiful in this gown and with the hair and make up as well.

Jennifer Aniston
I have no clue who designed her dress but it looks great. Don't you think so? Anyway she choose a very nice good looking gown which is good cause i mean who doesn't want too look good right? I love the lines on the dress cause it really gives shape and movement to the dress and the bodice of Jennifer Aniston. Her hair and skin looks flawless. Must be that vacation she had earlier with John Mayer . It must have been one heck of a vacation :)....

Anne Hathaway
One of my favourites to watch. I love the bunned up hair it, lets her show off her lovely shoulders and arms. I love that red lips of her it lets her features pop :)... I love the lines on a dress it adds life to the dress. I think i'm starting to see a line trend which I don't really mind at all. I like the piats on her dress simply shinning nicely on the dress . It makes her glow in a way.

Natalie Portman

Pretty in pink. This colour really stand out on the red carpet because it was rare . The only other celeb I know who wore the same colour was Alicia Keys. I love the flowyness in this dress. Love the classic elegances she was emitting when on the red carpet. I like the fact that Rodarte added those little gold things on the torso part of the dress instead of it being head to toe pink. It reminds me of the show pinky and the brain for some reason I don't know why. By the way, pinky and the brain was a cartoon about two rats that i used to watch last time.

Marisa Tomei

FINALLY ! Marisa Tomei has finally redeemed herself from the last two red carpet disaster's in this gorgeous Versace Ateliar . I like this origami trend going around. It really really shows how much effort it takes to make a gown and the creativity in its construction. Imagine how many people, hours and sweat it must have took to make this beautiful gown. Simply stunning however I wish it wasn't a one shoulder but still it realy is a work of art.

Amy Adams

This beautiful gown was designed by Carolina Herera for the Doubt's co-star Amy Adams. I love the lines on the dress . Like iI said before it gives shape To her figure. I love the necklace but i wished she didn't choose that necklace. Maybe a champgne coloured jewel or sparkling diamonds or a bare neck would have helped bring this dress to the next level. The colour of this dress is so rich and it looks amazing against her skin and hair. She just always looks great on the red carpet. Still loving her :)

Alright thats all for my picks on the Best Dressed for this year's Academy Awards. I hope you've enjoyed reading this post and do me a favour dear reader, and let me know which one of my picks was your favourite. Till then Adieu.

2009 Academy Awards Worst Dressed

Hello

Last monday it was the 81st Annual Academy Awards... The Academy Awards is the mother of all awards and its red carpet is the best to watch . Due to the fact that this is the award where all of its attendee's go all out to look amazing :) ... However, not everyone can do such a good job and just like every red carpet event there are sure to be some who should have just call in sick.. Anyway here are my picks for the worst dressed ... enjoy...

Amanda Seyfried

What I don't like ? : Well the bottom of the dress... i don't know why i'm just not feeling it... and then there's the big red bow on the side of her waist which reminds me about the big red bows that you see on cars. Other than that, the ribbon and the dress reminds me about the black dress with the big black bow that Charlize Theron wore before which was disastrous... it looked liked she had another head next to her nice gorgeous looking one...

Jessica Biel

I just don't like the straight cut and that thing at her side... it just looks weird... it looks like she was using a napkin when she was eating and somehow she brushed the napkin to her sides and she forgot to take it out... sorry but seriously ... Jessica Biel could have done so much more better... In addition she choose the wrong shoe :(... It was a black cover toe pointy I think the material on the shoe was velvet it looked like velvet but i'm not sure... Among all the things why get the shoe wrong?

Beyonce Knowles

Sasha Fierce could have done so much more better... I don't like the black outline things on the side of her dress... I love the corset part of the dress though it looks different :) I love the print on the dress it looks really classy and elegant... But other than that not liking it...

Tilda Swinton

This Lanvin get up is a little too fashion forward. She's beautiful and all but the outfit just doesn't work for me. Maybe later on in my life I will understand this fashion genius. Either way this entire outfit is totally her. She has always done something like this. She works with the designer to create a look which looks like in the picture above. However, I'm still not getting it.

Miley Cyrus

Miley Miley Miley !!! Why oh Why ? The dress looks like its wearing you and not you wearing the dress... Its a little too much for your sexy , sweet and lovely personality. It makes you look old. I don't like the belt and that ribbon thing on the belt it just looks weird. But I'll tell you one thing I like the details your flower petal skirt . It must have taken a lot of time and sweat to create that lovely design on each petal. I'm sorry Miley I love you but its a little too much for you. I like the dress that you wore on one of the earlier awards shows I think it was to the Golden Globes :)...

Well there were other choices to choose cause there was rather a lot of wardrobe malfunctions like things that are not suppose to stick out sticking out but hehe... I didn't choose those ... so its ok ... Anyway tell me which one do you think is the worst out of my pick? leave a message in my cbox to let me know :) thanks ...

Next up the best dressed post ... There's so many pretty dresses that day :)...

Where Science Meets Art...

hello

Not too long ago, there was a Microscopic Photography Comepetion like thing and the results of the shots were amazingly beautiful... These truly awe-inspiring microscopic pictures of nature are so small that they are invisible to the human eye. This is what happens when art and science collide... enjoy :)

I bet some of you are wondering how on earth do they do this well they use a technique known as photomicrography, where microscopes are linked to digital cameras, photographers are able to capture the beauty of the very small, like the wing scales of a moth

Its cool right? which ones your favourite ? tell me alright just leave a message on my cbox... thanks

I Dread...

Truth be told...

I dread the nights after which you've gone to bed
with your eyes close and your ears deaf
because that is when i feel the most lonely

but i rejoice in the fact that the moon is out
and the sun is no more because
it means that i am one day less from seeing you again
in the month of November...

The 2009 BAFTA Film Awards

i know this is long overdue sorry sorry i was busy spending time with my best friend who has recently left for sydney ... i now don't like looking at the sydney opera house i bet you know why.. i'm just weird oh well.. can't blame me... my brains just wired differently... hehe... anyway back to business *ahem

Just like the americans the britains on the other side of the pond to have an awards ceremony to celebrate good films and good actor and actresses :) its called the British Academy Film Awards... SO here are my picks for who did it right and for those who should have let me put this in a nice way get divorced with their stylist :) ...

Best Dressed

Kate Winslet

The beautiful and hour glass figure sure worked to her advantage in this dress. Its so symetrical thats what i like about it. The corset is different compared to other dresses. i just wished it was not black because lets face it black is a little boring a nice bright colour like the cobalt blue that she wore to the SAG Awards would have been nicer. Besides she's already worn black to the Golden Globes earlier on... hehe but overall she still looked nice and fine as usual....

British actor Dev Patel, left, and Indian actress Freida Pinto, right

For some reason they look good together but we cannot say that they acually have a romance off screen since both of them have denied any truth to that claim. Anyway lets talk about Freida's dress shall we? hehe... well i love it cause it highlights her body shape perfectly and the colour is so gentle and all girly. I like how the hair and make up looks and the fact that she did not over do the jewellery :) i like the necklace don't you?

Worst Dressed

Alesha Dixon

This British singer can sing well but the song is a little too much. There's too many gatherings... its all over the place and whats up with the gloves?

Marisa Tomei

This girl has yet to do any rights on the red carpet ... What she wore to the Golden Globes wasn't that bad but extremely out of place, the SAG awards not so bad just needed a blod lip and some blush ... but now its like she's wearing a pillow case or something but hey at least its a nice pillow case x)

There wasn't much style to watch due to the fact that i couldn't really find any pictures but hey at least i did something...

I went swimming with ethan and susan today ... we ate fries by the pool with mayo ... lol.. it was nice :) i had a great evening.. THANKS ETHAN AND SUSAN FOR COMING.... will be blogging soon... i have quite a few things in mind to blog about :) ...

anyway i;m listening to this song now... try to guess hwat it is... i bet lw knows... :)

Oh, kiss me beneath the milky twilight

Lead me out on the moonlit floor

Lift your open hand

Strike up the band and make the fireflies dance

Silver moon's sparkling

So kiss me

I Have Come To Realise...

i have come to realise that i hate to see planes take off

i have come to realise that i wish Sydney was a lot more closer to home like how Singapore is close to Malaysia

i have come to realise that i haven't blogged about the Bafta's yet maybe I'll just go straight to the academy awards...

i have come to realise that the journey from kota damansara to KLIA is very very short...

i have come to realise that i can't listen to any love song without crying for now

i have come to realise that i can't go anywhere without remembering the good old times

i have come to realise that time would pass by very very fast hopefully

i have come to realise that I'm depressed

i have come to realise that i need to find something to distract myself like a job or something

i have come to realise that i just can't stop....

but overall i have come to realise that this is not the end but only the beginning...

as the days grow longer and as the season changes.. come what may I will still love you...

The 2009 Grammy Awards

hello

We hear their songs on the radio and mtv all the time :) but the thing is can they dress to impress on the red carpet on musics biggest and oh-so-prestigious award ceremony.Once again here are my picks for best dressed and worst dressed for the 2009 Grammy Awards.. Enjoy...

BEST DRESSED

Kate Beckinsale
Actress Kate Beckinsale plays up her shape in this dramatic Reem Acra gown and Lorraine Schwartz jewels. its a lovely dress but however its a little too much drama going on at the bottom of the dress for the Grammy's...nevertheless she is still one of my picks for best dressed :)...
Sheryl Crow
Proving that dressing age-appropriate doesn’t have to mean looking boring, Sheryl Crow’s off-the-shoulder sky blue dress by Maticevski deserves a shout-out as one of the more fashionable and flattering outfits of the evening.

Kim Kardashian

Kim trying to look sophisticated instead of sexy... hmmm.. I like it for some reason theres just something about the dress that looks classy and yet hot :) This pleated minidress is by Maticevski.

Taylor Swift

The country star cutie gave red-carpet veterans a run for their money in this sophisticated jersey dress with black patent straps by Kaufman Franco. The 120-carat bracelet by Lorraine Schwartz also impressed. Simplicity is in fact beauty.

Katy Perry
Perry’s soft pink red-carpet dress by Basil Soda is one of the standouts of the evening. There's something very Marilyn Monroe about the outfit and hair and aura that she was emiting that evening. Don't you agree? however i wish i could say the same for the outfit that she wore while performing on stage but i'm afraid i can't. If your really curious to know... you can go and google it to find out...

Worst Dressed

Bai Ling
I'm confused is she wearing this dress upside down? Maybe the ribbon is suppose to take our eyes off the other parts of the dress... But i'm so confused... Only the big Guy up the sky knows what was going through her head when she was chose this dress for the Grammy's.

Paula Abdul

This is one hot futuristic mess of yellow chiffon and shards of metal. You know i think it'll look better without that gladiator armour like thing on her shoulder...
Estelle
A very very futuristic dress... Too much into the future perhaps Estelle is a member of the Jetson family X) .
Gwyneth Paltrow
Mrs. Chris Martin from Coldplay was probably attempting to dress like a rock-star wife in this shimmery Versace dress, opaque gray stockings and silver sandals, but something about the ensemble has more of a figure-skater feel. Nevertheless, it still does not work....
Paris Hilton

What can i say about this night gown opps i mean dress x)... She's such a pretty girl.. just wished she put her pants on or better yet don't wear it...

Double the Worst Dressed : M.I.A

While we applaud M.I.A. for attending the day her baby was due, both her globe-esque red-carpet getup and dotty onstage outfits already have us debating which one we’re going to copy for our next Halloween costume. I can't choose can you? I excuse the blue sport shoes because she had a bun in oven but i'm sorry i really really can't excuse the rest of the get up. Both outfits are just so horribily tremendously wrong...

Well that's my pick.. feel free to make a comment too :)... awyz the next fashion post will be about the BAFTA's its a british award... Until then bye bye

Should I Give Up or Should I Keep Chasing Pavements?

there was a time when i was little
where you kept me safe in your bubble
with your watchful eye
you watched me grow into a butterfly
those days have passsed
as i have aged

i've learn to walk, fall and get back up
i also never had the best of hands
but i tried to play my cards right
i rolled the dice and payed my dues
and learned a thing or two

so don't you think its about time you let go?
why won't you ?
so should i give up asking you?
or should i just keep chasing pavements?

Blessing Or Curse?

hello

there are some people in life who get over things very easily because they choose to move on and not get held back . They just don't want to dwell in the past. But the thing is some people misunderstand them in very bad way . They would say things behind their back and everything and then when they see that person the halo's come out. Its hard to act like everything's alright with them when that person knows whats going to happen when that person's not around them. But what can they do when they have the ability to not dwell in the past for not long... is it another blessing and a curse just like love?
