The Screen Actors Guild Awards

hello everyone

Last monday other than the fact that it was the lunar new year and australia's national day, it was also the day where all the hollywood stars came out all dressed up to attend the 15th annual Screen Actor Guild(SAG) awards. As usual I was watching to see what people wore and whether my fav fashionistas hit it out of the ball park or they needed to divorce their stylist x) so here's my pick on the top 7 best dressed for the SAG awards.

Anne Hathaway

The star of Bride Wars of wars did it once again. First at the Golden Globes and now again at the SAG Awards . Doesn't she look stunning? Wouldn't you agree with me that this Azzaro creation makes her look like a Grecian Goddess. Anne’s simple, stylish gown, drapes beautifully and the gold detailing adds to the luxury and glamour. White can be hard to pull off, especially on pale skins, but somehow Anne manages it perfectly. Furthermore, it looks effortless and natural.

Amy Adams

Is nominated for her role in the movie Doubt this year. However for me whenever i hesar her name or see her the movie Enchanted with the scene where she's dancing with Patrick Dempsey plays in my head and then i go why can't i be dancing with him... lol jk.. ok back to business... this eggplant colour dress goes well with her very pale skin and red locks. In case your wondering whats that thing on her waist well its a big bow i think. If it is well to be completely honest it goes very well with the dress its not too big or small that makes it look like the dress is wearing her and not she wearing the dress. Besides, bows are all the range now in the fashion world. In short i love the dress and her...

Claire Danes

This year the host of the SAG awards wore a nice sultry red dress. With the back sleeves of the dress slighty more on one side of the shoulder than the other. That sleeve alone was a breathe of fresh air from the usual one shoulder desgins that have been dominating red carpets on all the award shows. This red Nina Ricci silk number gives Claire’s tiny frame curves and the neckline is sublime.

Evan Rachel Woods

The star of the movie the Wrestler's gown was designed by Monique Lhuilier. This glamouress teal number reminds me of old hollywood timeless classics. It also continues the one shoulder trend and invokes the spirit of the Hollywood age. It shows that simple can be show stopping.

January Jones

Yet another Grecian Goddess look which is one of the looks that i love so much. why? Cause it looks elegant, timeless and feminine. This beautiful creation by Andrew Gn shows that with a little bit details at the right places and amount a black dress doesn't have to be boring. Mind you her hair looks perfect with the dress not too overdone and it looks fresh.

Kate Winslet

A beautiful blue cobalt number. This dress is assymetrical and it has that off shoulder but also on shoulder going on. Its a very bold colour for Kate as she normally wears paler tone sort of colours. But this bold colour really makes her pale skin and beautiful blonde hair stand out. Plus her fishtail Narciso Rodriguez gown compliments Kate’s curves whilst the royal blue is a fabulous and show stopping colour. On another note i'm so glad that Kate does not want to do Botox. :) She says that she won't do it cause it would take away her ability to act convincely.

Penelope Cruz

Azzedine Alaia always creates a great line, and this dress is beautifully cut. Love the new and different neckline. I think its metal. The train is gorgeous it suits her body too.

So thats my picks for my top 7 best dressed for the SAG Awards... so lets take a look at the misses shall we?

Laura Linney
Normally wearing something from Micheal Kors would be amazing cause he knows how to make stunning dresses but i don't know. there's just something weird about this dress that i can't put my finger on. tere's just something so wrong and weird about it. any ideas?

Eva Longaria
To be completely honest, i'm so dissapointed with what Eva wore. I thought she would have put together something as glamourous as she did like in the Golden Globes 2009 but oh well we're all humans and we all make mistakes i guess. A little bit too much ruffles here and there...

Nicolette Sheriden
I don't like the one sided sleeve thing... sorry...
America Ferrera
I'm sorry but i don't like the Vera Wang gown... i don't like the black things... and i wished she pulled her hair back. i think it would have looked nicer....

So those are my picks for those who dressed lovely and those who didn't. Remember this is only my opinion. I'm not saying that i can dress well or anything. Just doing this for fun. Feel free to say what you want to say in my cbox... The next event will be the Grammy's and the Orange British Academy Awards.
will be blogging about my Chinese New Year in the next post when i feel like writting it... Maybe tomorrow... Until then au revoir
