Often At Times...

Often at times...
being in Hk
takes away your soul cause all you ever do is work work work ....
You work your way in university
You work your way in hall if not people say your slacking
You work your way even when your walking (cause if you walk to slow you get pushed around)
You work your way for internships (trying to stand out is not easy)
You work to make yourself happy (only for workaholics)

and when you finally want to relax something new pops up in your planner, email, blackberry or ipod touch..
You then get out of bed and start working again...

And while your working you would often at times meet obstacles... some that you'll be able to conquer some that you won't be able to handle ...

and it is during those times that i need my boo boo bear...

where did you go boo boo bear?

The Ass Has Spoken

Therefore, I shall Write me Bloggy....

I'm FUCKING ANNOYED .....

Last night my room door spoiled therefore i didn't close it cause i feared that i would lock myself in.... so i went down to the office to inform then and they said alright we will send someone up to fix it in the morning...

So i expected them to inform me via email or phone call... but little did i know...

The next morning 3 unknown alien man came into my room with hammers and a drill...

they told me to continue sleeping but how on earth do you expect me to continue sleeping if your using hammers and drills to fix my door...

and sleep with 3 alien guys in my room...

the best part was that you guys were arguing in cantonese about who fixed the door wrongly yesterday and how to fix the door...

Seriously... geeezzz

The End Of My Reading Week...

I had quite a week to be honest... Lets start with the highlights...

First Highlight : Cheng Chau Island

Cheng chau was amazing :) The air was cleaner than back home and HK... I loved the beach even though it was cold but you guys know that I'll still enter the water... I was good ok i only entered until my knees ... hehe

The seafood was nice too :) not as nice as kl but it was rather fresh :) hehe...

I cycled up the mountain and hiked up some more and I managed to get a shot of the island or at least the developed part of the island (please refer to the picture above) It was so much fun...

except for the part where geneva and I got lost for a bit and got chased by two dogs... x) all part of being a natalie... hehe

Hightlight 2 : Macao Trip

Even though i had to hiked up a lot of stairs and do the cultural exchange with the university of macao ... I still had fun :) want to know why ? cause i got a chance to go to the venetian with my friends and gamble :) lol

Lisa was so funny :) we saw her sitting on one of the slot machines just staring at it and then we tapped her and she said...

L : I don't know what happened I think I just lost Hk$75
N : how?
L : I don't know i just kept on putting money in...
N : x)

hehe... i got my turn on the slot machine :) so happy which was well kind of my goal ... haha just wanted to try the slot machines... hehe

but I must say being in the casino reminded me of some people... I wandered pass the poker table and I remembered zn, arnold, syn giap, , jason and so on... it wasn't until I saw the mahjong table then I started scream OMG Calvin !!!... i later had to explain to my other friends who thought that the excitement of being in a casino had gotten to my head ... haha

Hightlight 3 : Finally getting enough sleep

I must say i miss sleeping... hehe it was good to be able to sleep yesterday ... finally a day where i didn't had to wake up for anything :) hehe... my hols have been packed as you can see from the previous post... ok i got to get back to my corporate finance...

see you guys

Reading Week Is Indeed A Reading Week

Hello

Sorry for the no updates... been busy ...

So what has happened so far? i went back home to celebrate Chinese New Year... :) CNY was really different this time around.. i guess it comes with studying abroad... I don't know why x) i guess its cause i missed home, family and my malaysian food... and this time around i was actually looking forward to seeing all my relatives... haha i even waked up at 4am in the morning to order to reach kl in time for the reunion dinner and lugged my heavy luggage with my tiny hands to the airport... i guess it shows how much i miss my family ... unfortunately i keep on forgetting to take a full family picture with them... aaaaa i shall remember next year...

and in the middle of it all i got my ielst's results from the british council

And then i woke up at 4am again to get back to hk in order to pass up my assignment in time... see how much i love doing my work lol... so when i got back to hku after cny i had 2 assignments due and 2 midterms to handle... stressful week... and one thing i want to point out is about the thunderstorm cloud above my head when i got back to hku sorry friends... was very stressed and stuff... sorry if i did anything to offend you guys...

other than the midterms and the assignments i also decided to participate in the joint hall mass dance which is when all the halls under hku come together and we celebrate the joy of dancing... its basically to put in lame man terms a dance festival :) hehe... i've always said that i wanted to get back to dancing and honestly this is my first step towards getting use to dancing all over again... and its a different style from my usual broadway... this time i'm attempting something like street jazz and hk hip hop lol... hopefully i can pull it off before i actually pull my legs off... lol i haven't been dancing for ages so of course my muscles will ache... the guys have been really sweet offering to picky back me up the hku steps and carry my books when they saw me in pain... lol.. Thanks guys :)

So now i'm at the start of my reading week.... and to be honest my reading week is really a reading week aaaaaaa ~~~.... lol here's the rundown

Sat : Midterm

Sun : Standard Charted Marathon ( yes i attempted .... to support them ... it takes effort ok... i didn't sleep... i had to be there by 4.30am to support them and i just woke up from my sleep >.<>
PS : Daddy you better run this marathon next year its freaking inspiring and you;'ll definitely enjoy it :)

Mon : Assignment due and a firm visit

Tues : Cycling and bbq on the beach, and dance practice

Wed : Macau ( at the last minute i managed to get a free trip including transportation and hotel to macau so happy)

Thurs : mentor ship program and dance practice

Fri : internship program

Sat and Sun : Finish up some work, do some applications and Study Study Study !!!

See indeed it is a reading week except the macau and bbq trip :) hehe... oh well cest lavie
and its also because i'm living in one of the busiest cities in the world ...

Yes, Patience Is A Virtue...

I seriously have no idea whats wrong with you...

I understand that you are suffering from severe lack of sleeps just like the majority of HKU students... (its our trademark)

I understand that your severely stressed with the amount of work that you've been getting from not just our professors but from your other activities...

But it still does not give you a reason

To make rude remarks towards other people who are not as fortunate as you to be able to speak cantonese or mandarin in HK alright...

It also does not give you a justified reason to go around talking to everyone with a rude tone...

No doubt things aren't going as well for you as they normally do... you should have an EQ high enough to be able to handle it and other matters with grace...

And after all this even if you need a shoulder or and ear...

We are all here... waiting to great you with open arms ...

You just need to open to us...

*starts chanting PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE continously....

Random Thought : Should I start twittering?

No Air...

hello...

I've been coughing for a very very long time already... and yesterday the cough kind of manifested and my body decided to go on a coughing spree for 5 minutes non-stop in the middle of my management accounting class... it was so bad that i had to run out of class to escape the icy evil glares that i was getting...

So i went straight to a doctor as soon as my classes were over ...

While waiting for the doctor i ended up being fascinated by the fact that i was watching pokemon in cantonese x)... haha... so after a through examination .... the doctor asked me where are you from ? then i was like malaysia... then he concluded that i was allergic to the air in hk....

My first reaction of course was the you-must-be-kidding me face... and then he went on to explain that my airways are actually inflamed and that their quite swollen thats why i find it hard to breathe sometimes... something in the air must have triggered the allergic reaction... and i was like great another thing to add to my list of problems with my lungs...

So the doctor gave me medicine and told me to rest more... and gave me the i-pity-you-that-your-allergic-to-the-air face...

I feel so miserable right now... cause there's nothing i can do other than cough non-stop... its not like i can stop breathing or afford my own personal move able oxygen tank right? my only solace now is that i have my puppies kenny and kylie to accompany me in your place and that i'm going to be going back to kl for chinese new year this saturday :)... Clean air babeh!!!

Today when i woke up i decided not to be defeated... so i went to class like normal... took my medicine... and then suddenly out of no where the allergy decided to manifest itself... and i started coughing... my tutor looked at me with such concern and my classmates looked annoyed so, i decided to run to the toilet before i annoyed anyone any further... so here i am now actually skipping class when i'm actually able to attend... first time in my life skipping classes ok... i feel weird... so what do people normally do when they skip class?

To be honest i really miss you now and i want so bad to call you cause i know i'll feel better but you told me not too... so all i can do is wait till the next sunrise comes...

Dare You Take A Chance?

Dare you take a chance
And jump into the unknown
the blue abyss while being alone?

Dare you take a chance
And raise your voice
while looking at me straight in the eye
with your bloodshot eyes?

Dare you take a chance
And stand up
while rocking in front of the world
with your hair in a mess
and your lips all smudged in crimson?

Dare you take a chance
To let your heart skip a beat
and to let your feet not touch the ground?

Life's all about risk. No matter what it is

You just have to take that one chance , roll the dice, and play your cards right

If you don't take that one risk you'll never know if you've missed out on something important

Where Did The Time Go?

There's always something to do
There's always something lurking around the corner
Well it is HK after all...

I went to my first lesson for Professional Preparation Program yesterday... yes the class that i had till 8pm .... i was so tired when i got to class thinking that this is going to be another boring lecture well at least thats what i got from the course outline which i read a few weeks ago in KL...

but boy was i wrong... i was so freaking wrong... that it isn't funny at all

Not that it was interesting

But it really opened my eyes...

Not like the Star Education Fair didn't but yeah...

They showed us guidelines regarding where we should be at or at least should have done in order to prepare us for the working world...

Sad to say I'm quite far behind...

There's so many things to apply for like Internships and exchange programs.... I'm getting worried... there's like so many things to do and yet there's only so much one can do given the amount of time one actually has...

I've been looking up internship programs, social community work and exchanges... there have been some that have really caught my eyes and stuff... i'll keep you guys posted :)

About the Star Education Fair...

For those who were with me in the periods of 2008 -2009 should know ... No doubt Nick C and YL would know what I'm talking about....

That was how things came to be...

Anyway i'm off to prep for my next round of classes tomorrow... my assignments came in just today... here comes the storm....

After A Week of University...

hello

- Management Information System (MIS)
- Management Accounting (I)
-Principles of Management
-Business Statistics
-Professional Preparation Program
-Corporate Finance
-English for Business Communications
- Putonghua II (maybe... should I ?)

Life's just another roller coaster ride... It goes up, down and all around...

For some reason everything seems different this semester.. what used to be fun isn't anymore... maybe i'm aging, maybe i'm changing or maybe because your just not here...

Don't stop, make it pop
DJ, blow my speakers up
Tonight, I'mma fight
'Til we see the sunlight
Tick tock on the clock
But the party don't stop, no

Late Nights

as of recent date the workload has double and so have the quizes and presentations....

and the midterms are coming... sighs ... thank goodness i only have one before reading week and the rest will be after ... so i only need to worry about econs...

oh well... so guess where i'm heading for reading week... i'll give you a clue :) starts with an 'm' and ends with an 'a' ...

keep guessing :) i'll see you around... need to rush for psychology class....

psychology is driving me psycho... so much to read so little time....

so little time so much to do
i rather spend my days with you
frolicking underneath the sun
or dancing till the sun comes up

life's confusing its like a bouncing ball... it can hit the floor or the wall at every possible angle imaginable but the good thing about it is that it always bounces back... so just like life... we have to take what comes our way and bounce back up again :)

High Table Dinner

A few days ago ... well actually last wednesday... i attended my first ever high table dinner for my hall... i was kind of excited but kind of nervous at the same time... so i wore my black dress and walked down to the cafeteria... yes i know but they couldn't get another place to accomodate every single person in the hall this the cafeteria was used...

so you imagine hundreds if pretty girls wearing formal dresses and high heels and guys wearing suits with ties walking down the hall to the cafeteria... a little... but yeah wtv... so it was kind of fun.. they introduced us to like all the hall traditions and stuff and apparently my faculty has a song... i shall go and find out haha... x)

so i've been here for about a month plus already... so far hong kong like every other place on earth has its ups and downs...

ups
- shopping is freaking awesome (cheap and is ahead of KL)
-public transport rocks
-taxi's are nice and convinient
- people are really nice
and so on...

downs
- atm machine is slow
-elevator is slow
- language is a bit of issue apparently our malaysian accent is very hard to understand

and thats about it...

anyway i have to sleep going to watch to the interhall aquatic meet tomorrow ;)... hehe.. and going disneyland...

ps : photo's on facebook...

Everyone in this town
is seeing somebody else
Everybody's tired of someone
our eyes wander for help
Prayers that need no answer now
I'm tired of who I am
You were my greatest mistake
I fell in love with your sin
Your littlest sin

so how did i survive my home lock in during the typhoon? especially since i'm quite restless...

- sleep

Romance At Shek O Beach...

Hello...

I went to the beach yesterday as part of the activities held by the university of Hong Kong for international students... it was an hours journey from the university but worth the bumpy and long ride... I had a lot of fun riding the waves ..

and I have now gained a sudden fetish to learn surfing :) haha i know... so weird right.. natalie surfing? but we'll see... hehe.. we had a bbq buffet on the beach before heading towards the ocean... its a really pretty and romantic beach.. i really enjoyed riding the waves and soaking up the sun... but i may have soaked up too much... i'm now a red cherry tomato...

yes i know i should have put on sun block but you see i woke up late and hence i forgot... silly me... anyway here are some shots... there are more on facebook.. so go and check them out...

Jess, Geneva and I

Sook voon and I
The rest of the International Students...
Do you remember,
Or should I rewind,
To that summer when you caught my eye,
I played it cool, The weather was hot,
You had the beauty and the beach on lock.
With your flip flops, half shirt, short shorts, mini skirt,
Walkin' on the beach, so pretty,
You wasn't lookin' for a man,
When you saw me in the sand,
But you fell for the boy from the city

First Day

hello

I had my first official university class today... I was damn excited until class started... I had Introduction to Economics 1... it was so boring and philsophical.. i was like.... when the lecturer started quoting various economic figures... like adam smith. and marshall something... My lecturer stuttered a little bit here and there but i think he was nervous ... i could see it in his face... haha oh well..

i don't think i'll like economics but maybe it'll grow on me... thank goodness i'm doing accounting anf finance and not econ and finance..

oh btw autumn is coming... haha so its windy here now... i love it man... awesome wind especially when u go to the ferry pier... sea breeze :)...

Hong Kong So Far

*clears dust

hello :) i don't know if anyone still reads my blog.. but oh well..

hk is really nice so far.. so far my language barrier has only caused me angry screams from the bus drivers and siu pah drivers... it isn't so bad... i'll survive.. i think i'm starting to pick up the language... which is all part of the plan while i'm here... and nope i haven't met any super stars... i've been going to all the places where they normally got to eat but i haven't been fortunate enough to meet any ... but i have three years here so we'll see... haha

the weather here is really hot cause now its summer =.=' but autumn will be coming soon apparently... in hk i have to walk a lot... so i normally come home all sticky and stuff... i guess i didn't feel it back home cause we had cars... here its foot , cab , mtr , siu pah, tram, ferry or bus...
the public transport here is very efficient... so i love it like crazy ... they say 11 mean 11 the bus is coming... the mode of public transportations are also really clean :)... i sat on a double decker bus yesterday to Mong Kok it was damn fun... oh i finally found the toilet restaurant ... where they serve the food in a plate that looks like a toilet bowl... i plan to try it soon...

shopping here is reallly awesome... every High end brand imaginable... and the collections are really nice but the price is damn sexy la.. the shop assistants are really nice and friendly.. although some can be a bit aggressive and continously shove pretty things at your face that you want to buy... but their ok :)... the local shopping scene is also really nice... quality is not bad and its very very cheap... if you know where to go... now there is sales almost everywhere.. at the local brands... the high end brands have just finished their sales.. except chanel... haha

I'm very happy with my life here so far.. although there are some things that i would really like to bring over from kl to here like my bed, family, friends and the ss2 chicken porridge that i have been craving for ever since monday... but going abroad is about learning about yourself.. you either stand tall through it all and come back as a mature and bright individual or you fall victim to certain distractions here and get lost...

whatever may happen i know i'll pull through...

Someone's watching over me...

Ps : photo's are at fb... check them out :)

You Should Have Given It A Chance...

Hello

I attended my hku reception/gathering on the 12th of July :)... hehe it was awesome... In a sense that i finally knew other people who were going to the same university as me and also because i met some other people there who are just as enthusiastic as me ... and also cause it gave me a chance to meet other people who share the same dreams and hopes of going there...

i'm so happy that i bumped into nigel who like me saw the ad in the newspaper and immediately took it as a chance to get out of here and to move on with our lives... the best part was that we both got into the same course :) so i found a course mate .. :) hehe... I met other people there too who were really friendly... we all plan to go there together on the same flight and such cause some of us can't speak cantonese well...

I've even met li ling whom knows jc ... and we plan to go on a shopping trip once we hit hk ... and we plan to do all sorts of stuff like hiking and makan makan... ;)...my appetite's back btw cause the doc gave me the green light YAY !!!!! s

despite all that the one thing i really really want to do is to get involved in the community projects done by the university students :) its so cool... i haven't decided but its between going to africa to help build school's or go to india and teach english ... My parents have given me the green light to participate so i just have to figure out which one i want... haha... if i go ghana then i can gazelle's and elephants :) *squels with excitement... if i go india i get to buy an authentic saree ... ok that sounds stupid... but then again i might get my kidney stolen in india... and i love my kidneys x)...

to be honest i'm really excited although the language barrier is going to be a really huge challenge... but i doubt its something that i can't handle... but then again the fact that i can't speak the language is going to make it really exciting in a weird way :).... Nevermind if i'm going down their be others coming with me *Smirks...

ps: i met my buddy she seems really really nice .... and friendly too... and she's going to get me from the airport :)...

A New Buddy

The University of Hong Kong practices the Buddy System ... which is a system where the first year international student undergraduates are paired up with one of their senior students in the same programme... and that buddy will fetch you from the airport personally and be your friend/ translator throughout your entire first year...

So today i checked my email and my buddy emailed me :P hehe... she lives here in Malaysia too the only difference is that she is doing BBA ... oh well... hehe she sounds nice... i don't know what to reply in that email... haha sorry but this email really excites me cause it just amplifies the fact that this is becoming so real... other than the fact that my mum cries over ice cubes... yes she's emo... now you know why i'm emo too :)...

but either way i have a feeling i'm going to meet her this sunday at the HKU students meeting... where i'll meet all the other HKU students, their alumni and my professors... i'm nervous .. what should i wear ... maybe i'll where a dress... or should i go with my usual slacks... need advice people... lol...

oh i went to sy's farewell at mcd yesterday ... it was fun but sad at the same time... i realised that sy is older than paul not in terms of age but in the sense that i know her longer than paul...

we met in mandarin class when we were like 4 or 5 ... we went to the same tadika which was tadika diana, we went to the same primary school which was SK TTDI (1) and then we went to the same high school SMKBUD(4) and then we went to the same college which was Taylor's college and now we're both going to different uni's on different continents... its just sad... but thank goodness for the inventions of modern tech...

love you girl ..
